Terms of Service
Safelight Communications Ltd – Terms and Conditions
(Effective as of March 1st, 2025)
These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Safelight Communications Ltd. By submitting a work order or using our services, you agree to these terms in full.
General Service Terms
Service Acceptance: All devices are received as-is. Quotes exclude hardware replacement unless otherwise stated.
Additional Services: We’ll contact you for approval before performing additional work. Extra charges will apply.
Policy Updates: Terms may change without prior notice. Acceptance is implied upon work order creation.
Right to Refuse: Safelight reserves the right to decline service deemed unfeasible or non-compliant with our policies.
Payment Terms
Full Payment Due upon pickup or delivery.
Accepted Payments: Visa, MasterCard, cash, certified cheques, or business cheques. No personal cheques.
Taxes: All sales and services are subject to applicable BC taxes.
On-Site Payments: Our technicians carry mobile payment terminals for secure, contactless transactions.
Data & Liability Disclaimer
Data Responsibility: Customers must back up their data. Safelight is not liable for data loss during repair.
Data Recovery: We offer advanced recovery tools, but success is not guaranteed. Outcomes may vary.
Liability Waiver: By requesting service, you release Safelight from responsibility for unrecovered or lost data.
Privacy & Data Access
Confidentiality: We do not access or share your files unless required for service or by law.
Consent for Access: For data transfers or recovery, we’ll seek your consent whenever possible.
Emergency Access: If we’re unable to reach you and data access is necessary, we may proceed to complete the repair.
Security Bypass: Safelight may remove system passwords or security features to complete work, as needed.
Malware & Virus Removal
No Guarantee: Virus or malware removal does not guarantee future protection.
30-Day Re-clean (at our discretion): Limited support may be offered if reinfection occurs within 30 days (excluding user-related causes).
Equipment Recycling
Final Disposal: Recycled items are non-returnable.
Data Devices: Customers are responsible for retrieving any storage devices prior to recycling.
Secure Wipe: Functional drives will be securely wiped. Non-functional drives may not be.
Parts Disposal: Old or faulty parts are discarded at pickup and cannot be retrieved.
Limitations of Liability
Pre-existing Issues: We are not responsible for unrelated hardware/software issues.
Third-Party Products: We are not liable for compatibility problems with third-party items not supplied by Safelight.
Changes to Terms
Terms and conditions may be updated periodically. The most current version will be available on our website or by request at our office.
